Visitor's Question:
My girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me 3 weeks ago. I am 25 and she is going to turn 21 next week. When we broke up she said she felt emotionaly drained with me and didn't know if she wanted to be with me the rest of her life, and wanted to be herself for a while, but also claimed she does hope that one day we'll get back together. We have broken up twice before in the past 8 months because she feels like we were not getting along very well, but the first two years were wonderful. I could tell there were some problems in our relationship but I just kept thinking it would get better and it didn't. Also she was wanting me to change some personal habits I had, to better ourselfs. And I have, but she doesn't beleive me because of our past break ups. We still call eachother and hang out and do familiar things like we did before when we were in a relationship even SEX(which is amazing with her by the way, and she tells me the same everytime), but she keeps claiming she just wants more time to figure things out and be herself. I have sat down with her and told her the way I feel about her, but I feel like she just thinks I'm just trying to get her back. One more thing she has told me is that her parents now don't like me very much because of the break ups we keep recently having, and she says that is another reason it is hard for her to come back to me. I love her so much but have tried everything, people tell me to try to not talk to her for a while and see what happens, but I feel if I do that she will think I don't care. Should I keep talking to her and doing stuff together including sex? please help

Our Suggestion:
It's only been three weeks.

Keep on doing what you have been doing and she may change her mind.

Remind her once a week that you love her so she can't pretend to herself that you don't. Don't dwell on your relationship, that will drive her away.

Be there for her to share her feelings with.

Good luck!
George
