I have think that he is afraid of committement and/or going through a middle life crisisSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: My ex and I broke up about 1 month ago. I have come to the conclusion that he is afraid of committement and/or going through a middle life crisis or something (however, he is only 26). We dated off and on for 2 years. When we were together things were always great. We never faught and if something bugged us about something the other person did we would talk about it and deal with whatever it was -never anything significant. Anyway, he felt like we were getting too close and wanted to be single again. Three weeks after we broke up I went over to his house (I was invited) to help him with a couple of things because he was injured. Things went as the normally did minus the affection. When I left we hugged goodbye as we always did even as friends. Three days later after he had been drinking he called me. He ended up telling me how hard it was to see me the other night because I am always so sweet to him and that he still cares about me a lot but he just wants to be single right now, not to date anyone else just to be single. He mentioned that he would be sad if I would date anyone else. He ended the conversation saying we would be "alright", whatever that means. I called him 2 days later to say hi, but he wasn't available. He hasn't called back after 2 more days, which is strange for him. This confuses me. I love him very much. What is your take on all of this? Thanks, confused girl. Our Suggestion: It's hard to guess what is going through his mind. Maybe the failure to call you back is just a fluke... or maybe it is something significant... hard to say. Just try to contact him once a week to see how he is doing and let him know you care about him. My guess is that he will be back with you soon, based on what you said he said. Good luck!
