I just told my good friend that I had feelings for her. She has a boyfriend now. When I told her she said that she didn't know what to say and that her and her boyfriend are getting serious(I know he's cheating on her by the way)I said how I wasn't expecting anything in return because I know she's involved with someone but I felt I had to tell her. We hugged and she said she was okay with it and that we can remain friends and things won't get weird. She also said that it was better that I told her (What did she mean by that?)and that it took balls. She was so cool about it. We remain friends but there's a problem. I can't stop thinking about her. I have liked for the past three years. What should I do? Is there a chance after they break up that we can be together? Should I just be her friend now and wait until they break up to make my move? She is gorgeous, intelligent, caring, and fun to be around. Whenever I am with her I feel whole and that I belong with her. Is it inappropriate if I kiss her on the cheek when we hug because she has a boyfriend? What kind of things can we do together to grow closer? Please Help. Thank You for your time.

Friendship is the most important step before going out. Take the time to share feelings with her and listen to her problems.

My advice is to not kiss her on the cheek unless that is normal acceptable behavior between friends. You might ask her if it would be ok.
