Do you have some advice for this person?

My question is in a sense simple but not...my brothers best friend and I have liked each other since we met, about 7 years ago. We were both young when we met though, then he started dating my best friend. They dated for 3 years and broke up this past March. Since then she and I had a falling out. He and I have recently started talkin again, because my brother just got back from the army so we see each other quite often. We both like each other very much and would be together if it werent for his ex being my ex best friend, he doesnt want to hurt her and despite our past I dont either. But this past week we've stayed the nite together (nothing happened just a cuddle nite you know?), and then last nite I went to his house and we ended up dancing in the dark and just holding each other. We are perfect for each other and both feel so strongly about the other, but right now it cant happen. We've basically established we will be together after some time has passed, but neither of us knows how long that may be. So i guess my question is basically what should I do? I mean I know no one can really tell me what I should do, but in your opionion do I wait for this guy who I believe could very well be my soul mate, or should I keep on the dating scene and see what else comes along? If this helps at all, I am 19 and he is 20, so we are still young but I dont want to throw away something that could potentially be so wonderful. This may sound stupid I just needed advice from someone who accually knows what they are talkin about!! If you could help I would greatly appreciate it! XoXo Hopelessly Devoted



Our Suggestion:
One of you should approach your ex girlfriend (you should probably do it) and ask her if she would have a problem with your dating her ex.

She may not mind... or she may dislike the idea. At least you would know.
