Do you have some advice for this person?

the thing is I told him straight out that I wanted to be friends. And no he hasn't dropped me after. We get along in conversation like all friends do. But, I guess he doesn't think that a man and a woman can only be "just friends."

I did go out with him at first just to "test the waters" but I knew after a while that I didn't want to get into a relationship with him. What should I do?

So you went out with him to test the waters.

This gave him the message that you were more than friends.

Now you need to remind him that you were only interested in a relationship based on friendship. Remind him several times if he needs it.
