Jealousy has InterferedSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I recently told my friend i liked him, and he was thinking about going out with me. but then i acted jealous and he got mad and stopped talking to me because he said i was too controlling. i really dont know how to approach him or even if i should. what should i do? Our Suggestion: Jealousy is a HUGELY destructive force and can very, very easily destroy any relationship. If you guys were just getting started, then jealousy sounds like it quickly derailed what was going. You really need to show him that you will NOT be jealous and controlling if you want this to work. A relationship is about two people who care for each other *supporting* each other and helping each other be happy. It can never be about one person controlling the other, or one person harming the relationship with jealousy. If you guys were friends, then you should still be able to talk as friends. Find a way to get him in person, alone. You shouldn't do this over email or the phone - both are notorious for causing people to misunderstand or miss important cues. Do this face to face. Apologize for being jealous, and explain that it was only because you were so excited about the opportunity to be with him and were afraid to lose it. That you made a big mistake but that you've learned. Talk to him about how much you care for him and how good friends you are. Hopefully he will give you another chance! --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
