Visitor's Question:
My girlfriend and I have only been with each other for 3 months and we were going incredibly fast. We were both accepting of that and both went with the flow because everything was going great. We were talking future already and she was even looking for wedding dresses and engagement rings. All of a sudden, she made a complete 180 and said that she didn't want a serious relationship and that she was really confused about everything and didn't know if this was the best thing for her. She then broke it off because she said things like that and that her parents werent' approving of our relationship and also because we never got to see each other. This wasn't a problem before because we knew that we were both really busy and we try to make time for each other when we can. To provide a little background on her, she's 21, still lives with her parents, an only child, and still has rules placed on her such as cell phone restrictions, curfew, etc. They control her decisions and her life. The only way I was able to talk to her was by e-mail and AIM. They didn't like me because they thought I was only wanting her sexually, which was not true at all. I didn't see any of this coming and I had no indication that she felt this way. She still says that she loves me, but she said that she didn't love me as much and that she wanted to fall out of love. My question is what could it have been to make her change her thoughts like that? Could the door still be open for a reconciliation?

Our Suggestion:
You mentioned quite a few reasons why she changed her mind.

Parental disapproval is probably the major factor in her thinking.

I don't think the door to reconciliation is open for you since she is really not her own person yet but a baby to her parents.
