Celebrating Valentine's Day On your Own

Valentine's Day can seem depressing if you don't have a special partner to spend it with. It shouldn't be! Valentine's Day is about celebrating the ideas of love, romance and caring. One of the most important people to love and care for is YOU! If you don't start by caring for yourself, it makes it really hard for others to care for you.

If your friends aren't available for a fun night out, treat yourself to a very special evening. You probably don't want to go out to a restaurant, because they'll all be jam-packed with people. Instead, go out the night before and get yourself your most favorite foods. If you enjoy wine, pick up a special bottle. If it's beer you enjoy, grab a few of your favorites. Don't forget the dessert!

Now, set the mood for your special evening. Put your favorite CDs on the CD player. Light some candles for yourself. You deserve to be pampered! Enjoy your meal and savor your favorites. If you don't really like eating alone, get a book that you really enjoy and read it while you eat. Another alternative is to set up your dinner and candles in front of the TV, and put on a movie that you love. Enjoy your delicious food while you get caught up in the movie.

Enjoy bubble baths? Get some extra-special bath oil and light some candles in the bathroom. Soak in the tub, listening to your favorite music or reading a book.

Above all, truly enjoy the day. Don't worry about what others are doing, or what an ex is doing. The day is about you, and about treating yourself like a prince or princess.

Quick Ideas:
* Get yourself a book you've been dying to read, and don't open it until tonight
* Get yourself that sweater or dress or shirt that you've been putting off
* Ignore diets and rules for the night. Just enjoy your favorites
* Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. This is YOUR special night, to enjoy!
