Take Her Side
Girls usually have many people harassing them in life. Parents are trying to tell them what to do. Teachers are always correcting their mistakes. If they have siblings, the siblings are usually a thorn in their side. Girls tend to really want and need a champion in life - someone to defend them and stand by them.
So be that champion. I'm not saying to stick up for them when they are obviously in the wrong. But try to listen to them, understand them, sympathize with them. Even a girl's female friends are often subtly harassing them. Girls can be very catty. If you show you really care about her and take her side, you might be the first person she has ever met that really is in "her corner".
