When the two of you are together, it helps to take pictures. Then, when he/she is gone, you can reflect and you can see how happy you are.
I've been in this relationship for a little over a year and about 7 months of it has been long distance.
Whenever he is home, we take lots of pictures, making different faces and just being stupid so we can remember how happy we are together.
