Though this is a sci-fi movie, the central theme is the forbidden love of Anakin and Padme. They met when they were just children and now find themselves reunited after ten years. Anakin has always loved Padme, and even though she insists they can never be together because of their responsibilities to the senate and the jedi, she finds herself giving into temptation.
