I really care for her, however everything seems to go wrong.

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
I fell for a girl I worked with. She felt the same way but when we went on our first date I froze when she asked me why I had asked her out. Later on she ended up dating a foreign backpacker who also worked at the same place. This is when I told her how I felt. However my hesitation in telling her my feelings reduced her feelings for me to only friendship status.
The backpacker treated her like garbage. It was hard watching her get more and more upset with him.
When he left the country, she soon quit and started a better paying job in order to save up for a plane ticket to go see him.
It was months before we saw each other again but I kept in touch as much as possible with her. She would txt me telling me how much she missed me and I would reply saying the same.
A few days ago we finally had a chance to catch up face to face. We saw a movie together and during the movie she cuddled up to me giving me the impression that maybe her feelings for me were returning. We had a really good time with each others company. At the end of it I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
A few days later I txt her telling her how good it was to see her again. She replied asking me if I still had feelings for her. I said yes. She then told me that she had a boyfriend ( not the backpacker, another one).
I felt quite dissapointed but I told her that I didnt want to mess up what she had. I told her i'd rather be a close friend than never see her again. She replied by saying that I should know that she loves me.
What I dont understand is why did she start cuddling me during the movie. And why would she then say that she loved me considering she just told me she had a boyfriend? Nothing she said during our time catching up together ever implied she was seeing someone. Should I ask her if she still has feelings for me? I want to start something with her but I dont want to ruin her current relationship. What should I do?

Try to continue seeing her as a friend.

She seems to still have feelings for you so stay nearby. Friendship is a perfect springboard for romance.

Don't worry about her current relationship, just keep your own relationship as friends and see what develops.
