lying
Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old MaleWe've been going out for a year. We have been discussing getting engaged and we truly loved each other. In the beginning, she asked me if I ever took my ex on a trip and I said no. I lied and some months ago she found a picture of us on a trip. She broke up with me, but took me back a few days later. Mostly I was scared to lose her and thats why I lied in the first place. I know its not an excuse. After, she realized she loved me and thigs were great. Now, 2 weeks ago I promised her and myself that I would quit smoking. A day after I quit, I smoked and kept the pack. She found it and then was so angry and dissappointed, she broke up with me again. This time I believe shes serious because this is the second time. I know I don't deserve a second chance, but I really do love her. But if I do love her, I never should have lied. I don't know what to do. Do I deserve another chance or should I let her go? I want to quit and was doing pretty well after that extra day. This all happened recently and I was just wondering what I should do.
RomanceClass.com AdviceTell her it wasn't as easy to quit smoking as you thought it would be.
Tell her you will try to stop but can't make any promises because you don't want to lie to her again.
She should understand your situation. Since this breakup happened so recently, there is a good chance she will give you another chance.
In the future, don't make promises that you might break.
Good luck! George
