what to do next and if there's any hope left
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old MaleI recently met a girl who I fell in love with. For a long time, I thought she was really into me, because she gave me a lot of signs that seemed to show she was interested in me more than a friend. She always smiles whenever we met, talks to me a lot and we trade lots of jokes and stories, and she really seems to enjoy spending time with me. We talk and hang out a lot in class and out of class, and I started falling for her. However, when I asked her out on a date, she declined, saying she had only just started to know me and that she wasn't comfortable with dating yet, saying she wanted to stay friends for now. She was really nice about it, but needless to say, I felt awful about getting rejected. We are still good friends, and she still is always nice and happy around me, but I really want to be more than just friends with her and I was wondering what my chances are with her now. Should I continue being her friends and becoming more familiar and closer to her, or should I just give up? I am planning to become closer to her and try asking her out in the future, but I'm not totally sure what to do.
RomanceClass.com AdviceIt's nice you are in love and she likes you!
You are doing just the right thing by staying friends, becoming closer, and then asking her out again. You can also ask her out on a date and say you are asking her as "a friend" not "a boyfriend." She is more likely to say yes.
My guess is that she will grow closer to you and want to date you after some more time passes.
Good luck! George
