Am I Being too Picky?
Visitor's Question from a 31-40 year old Femalei have been single and dating for a while. Guys' comments about my looks range from "pretty" to "stunning". i broke up with my long term boyfriend exactly a year ago because i felt our relationship was stagnant, he did not inspire me and i no longer found him attractive.
all this year i have been "dating" but nothing works out. i fell for a guy and we spent three months together then he said he wasnt "ready" for anything. but other than that, i havent out of all the guys i have seen, found anyone that really captivates me enough to be in a relationship with them.
i feel like because i am pretty, successful and a nice person with a really fun personality, i deserve someone like that too. should i wait until i meet "the one" or am i being too picky?
RomanceClass.com AdviceI have to be honest and say it does sound like you're being very picky here. You should never choose someone based on looks. We all get saggy, old and wrinkly in no time at all. What happens if your guy gets into an accident and messes up his face - are you going to ditch him because he's no longer eye candy?
You deserve someone who is NICE - that is key. But what does "successful" mean? You'll only date rich guys? Money really isn't any way to judge how happy you will be. I know a ton of women who are really happy with middle-class earning men. I also know a lot of women who are with rich guys and hate it.
