I Can't Talk to my Boyfriend
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old FemaleI really love my boyfriend, but I don't know why but when I see him it's like I can't talk anymore. I guess I'm just shy. But the thing is I don't want to be shy with him.
I mean I talk to him over the phone. But when I'm like right there with him I can't talk anymore. So does anybody have any idea how to help me with this problem. Cause I really don't want to be shy anymore.
RomanceClass.com AdviceI can't even begin to tell you how critical it is that you be able to talk to a boyfriend face to face. A boyfriend should always begin as a good friend that you then date. It sounds like you completely lept over that step!! That means that if you have issues now, you have to try to discuss them over the phone which is a REALLY bad idea. I know many relationships that fell apart because people misunderstood something said on the phone. You need to be there, in person, to see the facial expressions and body language and everything else that makes up a real conversation.
Take an hour every day and just TALK to your boyfriend. That's the only way you are going to learn. Talk about anything. Tell him about your childhood. Ask him about your dreams. Either you learn to be completely honest with him - in person - or you will have issues as soon as you get into your first problem area.
