how do i get him to see that age doesnt matter?

A have a friend that has feelings for me and and he is 6 years older then me! i'v tried to go out with him but he says im to young! how do i get him to see that age doesnt matter?

Legally, age does matter.

If you are over the age of consent (18) then 24 isn't a big jump, unless it's a maturity issue.
