Husband and sister in law

Visitor's Question from a 31-40 year old Female
We went to my brothers house for a BBQ the other night and my husband likes to flirt with my sister'n'law. I was sitting next to my husband and my sister'n'law was standing next to him and the next thing he grabs her and sits her on his knee and was hugging her, meantime I'm still sitting there but a minute after it happens I take off inside.Later on, he puts his arm around her and cuddles her and she saids "At least, we're not doing it behind your back." For the rest of the night he hangs around her talking, if I go up and talk to him, he just shrugs me off and it doesnt help when hes been drinking. This is not the first time that it has happened, it has happened quite a lot and it makes me feel uncomfortable. We dont see my brother and his family very much, they live a fair way away. I havnt said anything to my husband or my sister'n'law because I dont want to start a arguement and I get on good with my sister'n'law. What should I do?

RomanceClass.com Advice
It is understandable that you feel uncomfortable with the situation. Yet, from your question, I sense that it is more important for you to keep a smooth relationship all around.

If they lived closer and you saw them more often, you might feel more uncomfortable; but, fortunately, they live far away.

The next time you see them, ask you husband in a gentle way if he could cut back a little on the flirting. This shows him you are not threatened by it but you also don't appreciate it.
