I Drove Him Away - I Want Him BackWe often have visitors write in with solutions to each others' problems. Here is a visitor's solution to one of our visitor's questions. Original Visitor's Question from a 13-20 year old Female Well it all started a year ago when I was bound and determined I was not going to attend my Junior Prom. I was set dead against it but my friends finally convinced me to go. My intentions were to ask a guy out of town but my mom suggested a local guy seeing that he would be closer. When I asked him about it he seemed really excited and said "YES." I had no idea that he liked me until a few days later when my friend told me the news. She said he wanted to know if I would consider dating him. Although I didn't really like him in that way I figured he would be someone to hang out with from time to time. So when he asked me I said "yes." We dated for about four months but I never really liked him all that well. It finally got to the point I just ignored him altogether. One day he asked if I just wanted to be friends and I was sooo happy! After that he tired to get us back together but I just ignored him and talked badly about him to my friends. Two months after we broke up he got a new girlfriend and I was even happier! This meant he would finally leave me alone and stop stalking me! After being split up for seven months I realize I lost the best thing that ever happened to me. Not only is he HOTT but he is also the sweetest guy with a great personality. I decided to write him a letter explaining to him the whole situation. He wrote back and told me he still loved me but only as friends. Also he said he was afraid it was too late to get back together because he had a girlfriend and they had been together for nine months. The week after he gave me the letter he and his girlfriend break up. He told a friend of mine he would have rather taken me to the Military Ball with him but couldn't because she had a dress and he felt bad about that. He has also been by my house to see me on various occassions, and he makes comments to my friends like: she was the best girlfriend I ever had, he protected my letters from his now ex, watched as I walked across school campus, wanted to know if I ever talked about us, and wears a necklace I gave him along with the letter everday! This week he decided to quit school but before he left he came by hugged me and told me to call him sometime. He didn't tell hardly anyone else goodbye. What does all this mean? Does he still like me? Is he playing hard to get? Is there a chance we could get back together? I know he said he thought it was too late but why did he break up with his girlfriend the next week? User Submitted Advice from a 21-30 year old Female This guy definitely still has feelings for you and make no mistake about that. From how you gave described this guy...he is one of the few gentlemen left. You sort of blew it the first time but it is clear that he is allowing you another chance at love with him. He may not show it, but he probably is still a bit stung in the heart by the way you treated him previously; thus, he is taking it slow (giving you a little but not too much action). Always remember, actions speak louder than words. His saying it may be too late to get back together is just smoke. His actions are saying something else. In summary, he's as good as yours. Just follow his pace and take it slow. Remain his friend and continue to show your interest in him. Trust me...you will be back to being his best girlfriend ever!!!
