Original Visitor's Question from a 31-40 year old Female I broke the heart of the one I love, before he went to the navy we broke up and I said I didn't love him anymore. I thought we were over, well it felt that way to me. But when he left I realized that I didn't want to go on without him. We have a 15 month old child together and I wanted to try to be a family for the sake of her and cause I am really in love with him still. But he doesn't believe me and I understand where he is coming from, I just want to prove to him that I want to spend the rest of my life with him but how? What can I say or do to prove that I love him and want to be with him forever? User Submitted Advice from a 21-30 year old Female Don't use child as pawn First and foremost prove it by not using your child as a pawn to bend him to your will, too many times when single parents are still in love or even in hate they use the child as a if you don't give me, if we can't work on this, etc etc and when they dont' meet the demands say fine you can't see your child or you cna't be with your child...next give him time and space and in the meantime develop or follow your other interests..not to say you shouldn't date but rather dont' start dating right away and make his doubts look correct..enjoy being independant and mothering your child for a little bit, let him see you in that light and let him see you as strong.
