He is a Punjabi Indian and I am a white AmericanWe often have visitors write in with solutions to each others' problems. Here is a visitor's solution to one of our visitor's questions. Original Visitor's Question from a 31-40 year old Female I'm dating a man who is of a completely different culture from mine. He is a Punjabi Indian and I am a white American. I really care about him and would like very much to make things work for us, but it seems like he is trying to make it difficult. He rarely calls but when we talk he blames it on his 60 hour a week work schedule. His parents don't approve of his dating a white girl, and even though they are still in India, they have a lot of pull with him. I'm just not sure if this is worth pursuing or if it is a waste of my time. I'm tired of waiting for him every night and being the only one trying to make this work- What should I do?? User Submitted Advice from a 21-30 year old Female Very hard Hi there.. I am punjabi Indian as well.. I am a female though, and I can tell you that it is very very hard to be in your situation. Unless he's willing to make his parents understand, it wont work. Indian guys, especially Punjabi, are very very romantic.. and if he's brining in talks about the culture, and if he's more traditional and conservative, then it will be hard.. good luck though..
