Original Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male hello, I am a male in the 11th grade in high school. I have a problem. There's this girl that I've known for 3 years now and I really like her. I really want to go out with her, but she just recently started going out with another guy. I talked to her today for about an hour at the YMCA and I really felt a connection between us. She smiled a lot at me, and she even asked me for my cell phone number and I also got hers. I would have asked her out a long time ago but that was before I went on medicine and started going to a counselor for an anxiety disorder. I just don't know what to do. This is her last year in high school and I really want to get to know her better and date her. The way that we connect when we talk to each other is almost like we were made for each other. One, don't try to break them up, if you do, they'll find out and she wont be happy wtih you, and two- the guy is probably going to get a couple of friends together and make your life hell! Your best bet is to let things play out, if she and her boyfriend move onto college, most likely they'll break up if they don't go to the same university. You stay good friends iwth her, and after she's gotten her begining college fun out of the way- you might just find yourself sitting in a good place! If she does break up wtih him before high school is over, i'd actually advice waiting for a bit, let her experiment and realize that she'd like a boyfriend, rather than a bunch of horny guys who only want sex.
