Original Visitor's Question from a 13-20 year old Male I have liked the same girl at my church for over 16 months now, and I would guess she likes me, but am unsure. She is the pastor's oldest daughter, and is home-schooled, so I don't see her much outside of church. She is also extremely shy. For the first seven months I was too scared to even talk to her. Then, two and a half weeks before the homecoming dance, which I really wanted to take her to, I decided to ask her before she made other plans. I was rather disappointed when she told me to ask her dad, who, like I mentioned earlier is the pastor. He unfortunately said no. After that I decided to just play it cool, but it seemed that every time I looked at her, she would be staring at me. I knew it most likely didn't mean much, but then in November, i was talking to my friend after youth group, and I looked to my left, and there she was, with her sister and best friend, all staring at me. It was the kind of stare that tells you that they're talking about you. I decided to ignore that. Then Christmas day, at the Christmas church service, I was standing in the somewhat crowded lobby, when she and her cousin walked in. They looked around a little, until she tapped her cousin on the shoulder and pointed directly at me while whispering something into her cousin's ear. Since then a few other things have happened that I remember, but none of them are significant enough to mean something, so I won't elaborate. It also seems that whenever i talk to her, she smiles and blushes and barely says anything but one or two word phrases. I don't know if that would be enough, but I was just wondering if you could tell me whether or not you think she likes me, or if you don't really know. I am almost clueless when it comes to this stuff. lol. Thanks. User Submitted Advice from a 51-60 year old Female Be friendly Sound to me that she likes you, but her father isn't ready for her to be dating if she's not even allowed to go to a dance. Be friendly with her and maybe eventually things will work out. Youth group events where you can talk and become friends could be a nice beginning for a future romance. Good luck.
