People tell me that you never completely get over your first crush
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old FemaleOkay, I used to like this guy at school. I had a major crush on him for about a year but nothing came of it. As a matter of fact, he kind of started acting like a jerk this summer. For a while, I thought that he liked me, too, but now I know that he does not like me as anything more than a friend. I have started going out with another guy who is so sweet to me, he tells me that I am beautiful and that he loves me more than any other girl he has ever gone out with. I love him, too but yesterday I went to a school function and saw the guy I had the crush on. I realized that I have a small amount of feelings left for this guy and now I am confused. If I really care for my boyfriend, how can I still have lingering feelings for the other guy? I don't want to go out with the other guy because I really do care for my boyfriend but I am not sure if I am completely over the first crush. People tell me that you never completely get over your first crush. Is that true? Is it normal to still have a small amount of feelings for that guy?
RomanceClass.com AdviceIt's true you never get over your first crush. The feelings will dwindle down to almost nothing but there will always be a tiny feeling left.
My advice is to ignore that leftover feeling and stick with what is working well now with your current boyfriend. If you try to go back with your crush you run the risk of having no boyfriends.
Good luck!
