User Submitted Advice from a 13-20 year old Female Be ready Well, i lost mine this past saturday. Valentine's day, and nine days before my seventeenth birthday. Now before i say anything else, you have to know a little bit of how i was raised. My parents are strict strict christians and i had purity rings, and i signed numerous things stating i was staying abstinent, and i planned on it staying that way. until i met Nick. I have known for a while now that he was the one i wanted to give my virginity to, even if we didnt end up married with a white picket fence. that is a HUGE HUGE part of all of this. making sure you're ready, and making sure he's the right one. If you think you are ready, dont just jump right into it. take some time to really think about it. I have known for almost two months that i was ready, but i took time to make sure. if he doesnt feel like waiting for you, i can almost guarantee he isnt the right one. on to the physical part. i honestly thought the heavens were going to open up and angels would descend singing when i lost it, but that wasnt the case at all. It honestly was not as life changing as i expected it to be. But i can say one thing. foreplayforeplayforeplay. it helps so stinking much. and when he first enters, it isnt so much a pain as it is more of a burn. or at least this was the case for me. it was bearable. i let him know i was in pain, and he gave me time to adjust.
